My Journey to Become a Writer 03/21/2024 Post #81

I’ve been accused of not being able to clap on beat, and apparently my hands have set a bad example for my heart, because it is still slacking sometimes.

I’ve been adding in some extra down time to my days in hopes that my heart can keep pace a little better, since it keeps skipping.

For that reason, I haven’t made much progress on my manuscript beyond mulling over some things in my head about tightening the theme.

What Did I Accomplish Today to Be a Writer?

I did Day 81 of the 100 Words a Day Writing Challenge 2024 through LA Writer’s Lab my story.

Beyond that, I didn’t do much else as far as story telling; but I have been taking more time to listen to audiobooks. Today I finished “The Last Bookshop in London”. I gave it five stars. The protagonist wasn’t a big reader when she went to work in a bookstore just on the brink of World War II; but she became one and names many classics she came to discover.

It’s been suggested that I take a break from these posts while I’m not feeling well. Part of why I’m continuing to write them is because I said I would, and it gets discouraging to me to fall back on something I’ve committed to; but also because I want to acknowledge the highs and lows during this journey toward my goal of being a writer.

Sorry if I’m rambling. Judging by Google Analytics I’m pretty much in an echo chamber right now, so I’m not too worried about wasting anybody else’s time. If you do happen to be seeing these words –

Thanks for reading what I’m writing,

I’m tempted to be discouraged about this season of weakness; but when I look back at my writing journey, I can see that sometimes when my strength is diminished, inspiration increases:

I'm not sure what to say here: I once got second place in a dog-look-alike-contest? I know how to fold a fitted sheet? I'm pretty much a poster child for social backwardness - at least as far as social media is concerned; but I have some stories I think I'm supposed to share and am attempting to do that here, in this space.
