My Journey to Become a Writer 04/28/2024 Post #119

This day marks the stopping point for me trying to “get my stuff in order” for a while.

I’ve been building a foundation for having my ducks in a row so I can launch into a visionary season, which I hope will last for the next three weeks.

In short: My plan is to make a plan.

I know that may sound a little redundant; but for someone who’s pretty much been migrant for the last five years, I feel like making some long range goals is going to be both exciting and scary. I’m looking forward to the process; but I have had to plan for it, since I’ve been so scattered.

What Did I Accomplish Today to Be a Writer?

I very likely did Day 119 of the 100 Words a Day Writing Challenge 2024 through L.A. Writers’ Lab.  This is my day off, so I’m pre-posting and can’t say for sure that I got it done; but I’ve got a hunch that I did.

What I’m Doing as Chief Operating Officer of My Writing Business to Move Forward

I’ve got a bad habit of having wars in my head, because of conflicting To-Do lists coming from the different categories of tasks that it takes to produce good content. I want an orderly home and office. I want my writing to be high quality. I want to know how to share content with others and keep producing at a steady and efficient pace. I want to not fall into the starving artist category.

I see the “Chief Operating Officer” as an overseer for the various roles I fill. I’m making an effort to plan my schedule so that each arena has a turn to operate without the other realms breathing down its neck.

I know this probably sounds ridiculous, or like I’m maybe encouraging people to have “split personalities” or something strange. I’m not. I’m simply saying that sometimes we have to set aside our other lists and concentrate on one thing at a time.

In other words, the COO is the one who says, “It’s your turn” to each “worker” in this little writing operation I’m trying to run.

Does it Sound Random? Maybe.

Is it Random? Not at all.

But I can see how it would sound like it is.

Thanks for reading what I’m writing,

Jody Susan

I’m still working on slowing down, just like I was 99 days ago:

I’m rolling my eyes at myself for employing words like “work” when it comes to rest.

I'm not sure what to say here: I once got second place in a dog-look-alike-contest? I know how to fold a fitted sheet? I'm pretty much a poster child for social backwardness - at least as far as social media is concerned; but I have some stories I think I'm supposed to share and am attempting to do that here, in this space.
