One of the most important things I do in a day is make sure my ringer is turned off.
I’m okay with noticing a call or text coming in on my screen; but there is something about the actual sound of a notification that startles me and sends my train of thought on a fast track to a far, far away place.
Hopefully I’m not offending all sorts of people by making myself not so easily accessible; but I don’t see any other way to get my writing and website work done.
What Did I Accomplish Today to Be a Writer?
I did Day 102 of the 100 Words a Day Writing Challenge 2024 through LA Writer’s Lab, and then I sat back down with The 90-Day Memoir and scribbled more notes. My plan was to wait until next week to start the actual rewrite; but I found myself dictating a prologue in my head, so I figured I might as well type it. Thus, the first thousand or so words have now been born, and I’m encouraged to have taken that first step forward.
It’s very hard to steer a car when it’s sitting still. At least now I’m moving again.

My plan now is to keep working on formatting future posts for this site, so I can go into auto-pilot mode on some details that I tend to get hung up on. So here goes…
