My Journey to Become a Writer 02/27/2024 Post #58

Oops.

It’s 9:34 p.m., and I’m just now posting.

So much for sticking with a schedule.

Because it’s so late, I’m going to break a writing rule and begin almost every sentence with I – just to keep things simple, because I want to shut my eyes and go to sleep.

What Did I Accomplish Today to Be a Writer?

I did Day 58 of the 100 Words a Day Writing Challenge 2024 through LA Writer’s Lab.

I contacted two people via email for possible future collaborations.

I met with a writing group. We discussed the conference from Saturday and worked on editing the fifth and final piece of a story one of our members is hoping to publish.

I threw my name into the ring for a possible writing position.

I met with a friend, and we discussed the children’s book she has been working on.

I stuck my dry erase boards up on walls for future planning, after letting their Velcro sit and cure for twenty-four hours for better stickiness.

I spent a long time trying to figure out train travel and hotel stays for an upcoming writing retreat.

I can’t remember what else I did; but that was a lot of “I’s”.

My eyes have had it.

Shall I go to sleep?

Aye, Aye.

The ayes have it.

I’ve had it.

I bet you have two, aye?

I couldn’t resist a bad Australian accent on the end of that sentence.

Oh brother. I definitely need to go to bed. If only my teeth were already brushed.

Good night.

Thanks for reading what I’m writing,

Jody Susan

Speaking of toothbrushes, it’s surreal to think my mom’s reaction to high beam radiation happened just about two years ago today:

I'm not sure what to say here: I once got second place in a dog-look-alike-contest? I know how to fold a fitted sheet? I'm pretty much a poster child for social backwardness - at least as far as social media is concerned; but I have some stories I think I'm supposed to share and am attempting to do that here, in this space.
