I feel like I’m living in an Emily Bronte novel – the wind whipping around my house is practically howling.
Maybe “whooshing” would be a more descriptive word.
What Did I Accomplish Today to Be a Writer?
I did Day 339 of the 100 Words a Day Writing Challenge 2024 through L.A. Writers’ Lab and unexpectedly got swept up in piecing together a poem. I plan to take another look at it in the morning, but I think it’s nearly done. I don’t know why these “ballad-type stories” come to mind, but when they do, I just have to sit still and see them through, because they don’t tend to come back around to my brain.
I listened to 44% of “The Art of Dramatic Writing” by Lajos Egri while I worked on building a sound treatment panel for my audio booth. A while back, when I believed I’d be living in my cargo trailer, I bought a bunch of screen doors from Lowe’s while they were on clearance to “expand my living quarters”. It turned out I moved into a house, so they’ve been sitting in my garage. Today I sewed 2″ foam acoustic panels to the screen to treat my sound booth. One door is down, plenty more to go…
I spoke with a writer who has agreed to critique a short story, planned a gathering with my writing group, agreed to meet with a local author soon, and rescheduled a writing retreat to a different week.
My Content Management Strategies to Create and Schedule Manuscripts and Posts
Well, I posted about my screen door sound booth on Instagram, and I wrote a poem. I still have two minutes left to re-record on my audiobook, and plan to go to the studio soon. After that, I hope to publish on Audible, but I’m trying not to spin too many plates at once.
Thanks for reading what I’m writing,
Jody Susan
