My Journey to Become a Writer 11/10/2024 Post #315

Today is my day off, so I’m writing this yesterday (which, I suppose is technically still “today”).

What Did I Accomplish Today to Be a Writer?

I probably did Day 315 of the 100 Words a Day Writing Challenge 2024 through L.A. Writers’ Lab to keep up on a daily journal and do a “thought dump”.

What I’m Doing as Chief Operating Officer of My Writing Business to Move Forward

I’ve been thinking about the words of Solomon, from the book of Ecclesiastes in chapter twelve:

I’m trying to recognize and remind myself that, as a writer, the opportunity to make books is endless, so I’d better take time to do the other things, because storytelling will never truly be done. As for study, my brain is tired. I feel like an old dog trying to learn way too many new tricks – mostly in the form of technology, which is supposedly supposed to be making things simpler. So far, it just keeps expanding my list. Speaking of which, I think I’ll go start on that…

Thanks for reading what I’m writing,

Jody Susan

The post down below from 99 days ago made me smile, remembering tacking the two sides of my business card up on the bulletin board at Modoc’s coffee shop. It was a reminder of how far this story about the barn has come, because it brought back the moment when a dear lady had me take two pictures from that farm down off her kitchen wall. One of the images on my business card happens to be a copy of her kind gift.

I'm not sure what to say here: I once got second place in a dog-look-alike-contest? I know how to fold a fitted sheet? I'm pretty much a poster child for social backwardness - at least as far as social media is concerned; but I have some stories I think I'm supposed to share and am attempting to do that here, in this space.
