Well, I finally finished recording my audiobook today. It’s been about two months since I started narrating “Can Cancer Be a Gift?”

Afterwards, I went to Modoc’s and ordered a decaf Mocha Latte in honor of my mom, then took a seat near the elephant mural, remembering a picture of the two of us in that same spot from several years ago.

Just like my drink, it was bittersweet.

What Did I Accomplish Today to Be a Writer?

I did Day 271 of the 100 Words a Day Writing Challenge 2024 through L.A. Writers’ Lab and finished up in the recording studio. Now it’s time to look at getting the audio and print versions formatted and finalizing the designs.

I’m about to have a meeting to discuss renovating my website. It’s hard for me to know whether to keep maintaining it myself, or shift it onto somebody else’s plate. Delegation and decision-making are two of my downfalls.

My Marketing & Distribution Strategies for Publishing & Improving My Platform

In the next couple of weeks I have three events planned to share my work with others. I’m trying to prepare my website and some printed materials for those opportunities – and practice reading out loud. In the meantime, I’ve got some tamales on the stove…

I'm not sure what to say here: I once got second place in a dog-look-alike-contest? I know how to fold a fitted sheet? I'm pretty much a poster child for social backwardness - at least as far as social media is concerned; but I have some stories I think I'm supposed to share and am attempting to do that here, in this space.
