I’m finding that in this journey “to be a writer” it is very difficult to actually find time to write. There are a lot of little things that add up, like graphic design, website development, editing, marketing, social media, etc…

I keep telling myself, “You can do anything, but you can’t do everything.”

I’m trying to figure out what to delegate, and who to delegate to… That’s tough for a do-it-yourselfer…

What Did I Accomplish Today to Be a Writer?

I did Day 264 of the 100 Words a Day Writing Challenge 2024 through L.A. Writers’ Lab.

I tried to participate in Quiet Friday, but I couldn’t concentrate. That might be because I haven’t felt well, but my mind was also spinning after a conversation about Scrivener (a program that makes it easier for writers to stay organized). After about forty minutes of trying to make myself write, I gave up, and left the Zoom call. I don’t think I’ve quit early like that before, but it felt disingenuous to stay.

My Marketing & Distribution Strategies for Publishing & Improving My Platform

I’ve been listening to a book on publishing repeatedly and reached out to a few people about possibly helping me with website design and marketing. It’s hard when I have ideas in my head about the way I want things to work. In a lot of ways, it feels easier to implement design the way I see it, instead of trying to communicate it to somebody else – but alas, I still don’t have a manuscript ready, because of spinning too many plates…

I did get permission to print a song from the writer, so I was grateful for that.

Tomorrow is another day. I do feel closer to completing my “call to action” ideas…
