I saw my reflection in the computer screen and realized I was wearing two pairs of glasses…

Time to shut down for the night. 🧐

What Did I Accomplish Today to Be a Writer?

I did Day 246 of the 100 Words a Day Writing Challenge 2024 through L.A. Writers’ Lab and took a break from writing for Labor Day. I’m never sure if we’re supposed to labor or not on Labor Day, but my body and brain seemed to need a break, so I took one. I did do quite a bit of planning – mostly by delegating different tasks to specific days of the week.

My Current Home Management Strategies to Help Stay Organized as a Writer

For most of the past year I’ve made Mondays my day to focus on house jobs. There were so many big projects to be done that it was hard to switch gears from one department of my brain to another. At this point, I’m approaching more of a maintenance mode – and I’m recognizing that I need to do a better job of pacing myself. I’m still building up stamina from all that stuff with my heart skipping beats, so going back and forth between manual and mental labor should help me get more done.

Thanks for reading what I’m writing,

Jody Susan

The post down below from 99 days ago makes me sound pretty deflated, but the one 99 days before that makes it evident that I’d been wound way too tight. I think I am just now beginning to let myself rest a bit. The past five and a half years have been a rush from one hard thing to another, and I do think returning to simplicity and more rest will do more for my writing than a thousand strategies ever could.

I'm not sure what to say here: I once got second place in a dog-look-alike-contest? I know how to fold a fitted sheet? I'm pretty much a poster child for social backwardness - at least as far as social media is concerned; but I have some stories I think I'm supposed to share and am attempting to do that here, in this space.
