My Journey to Become a Writer 09/01/2024 Post #245

Informative Image

Usually I pre-post these for my “day off”, but I didn’t get that done. It’s Labor Day weekend, and I’m trying not to belabor anything too much, but it’s hard to set aside my work for an extra day. I still have a sense that I need to keep sprinting long term, but that gets pretty counter-productive after a while.

What Did I Accomplish Today to Be a Writer?

I did Day 245 of the 100 Words a Day Writing Challenge 2024 through L.A. Writers’ Lab and did my best to take a day off. It’s hard to shut my mind off. Even something simple like reading a book becomes an editing session – because checking for grammar, punctuation and story structure has become a habit.

What I’m Doing as Chief Operating Officer of My Writing Business to Move Forward

I formulated some plans for the next couple of years. Nothing is concrete, and I’m not even going to call them “goals”, because some crisis might come along (or I won’t be able to keep up anyway). I’m just saying that I’m “aiming” towards certain things. If I don’t achieve them, at least they will help me stay pointed in a line, instead of being tossed about.

I’m also praying about doing quite a bit more delegating…

Thanks for reading what I’m writing,

Jody Susan

The post down below from 99 days ago is pretty much more of the same. Sometimes I wonder if I ought to finish this year of posting my “journey”, but I do want to stick it out – even if it’s just for the sake of being disciplined to write something every day.

I'm not sure what to say here: I once got second place in a dog-look-alike-contest? I know how to fold a fitted sheet? I'm pretty much a poster child for social backwardness - at least as far as social media is concerned; but I have some stories I think I'm supposed to share and am attempting to do that here, in this space.
