My Journey to Become a Writer 08/27/2024 Post #240

Informative Image

I was up until 1:30 a.m. last night, working on my story submission. Today was a little rough, but I did get some things done.

I sewed some blackout curtains, so hopefully my sleep will be more sound – if only I’d wind down sooner.

What Did I Accomplish Today to Be a Writer?

I did Day 240 of the 100 Words a Day Writing Challenge 2024 through L.A. Writers’ Lab and attended my writers group meeting. We discussed a future presentation in our community, and I’m planning to share part of my upcoming book then. We talked about maybe getting some pre-orders on books during that event.

I’ve been working on updating my manuscripts with some time stamps and making a list of pick-ups I need to record for the audio version. I also worked out arrangements for the person who is doing the foreword to record his part tomorrow.

My Office Management Strategy to Cut Down on Distractions as a Writer

I’m still trying to keep my email inbox empty every day, but I haven’t even checked my other address…

I’ve been working on sorting out bank accounts more sensibly between personal and business accounts and creating a more consistent budget.

Little by little, I’m trying to gain ground, but it’s hard to keep traction with so much coming at me.

Thanks for reading what I’m writing,

Jody Susan

The post down below from 99 days ago was written the day I came home from Italy. Now, I’m trying to decide whether to return…

I'm not sure what to say here: I once got second place in a dog-look-alike-contest? I know how to fold a fitted sheet? I'm pretty much a poster child for social backwardness - at least as far as social media is concerned; but I have some stories I think I'm supposed to share and am attempting to do that here, in this space.
