My Journey to Become a Writer 08/26/2024 Post #239

Yesterday, I was too busy writing to write about it, so I’m late posting this.

What Did I Accomplish Today to Be a Writer?

I did Day 239 of the 100 Words a Day Writing Challenge 2024 through L.A. Writers’ Lab, made some corrections and changes to my manuscript, recorded a section, and did a rewrite for my upcoming short story submission. I didn’t get done with that until about 1:30 this morning. My hands were numb and swollen, my tailbone is still sore, and I’m highly doubting this will be my last exchange with the editor. Somehow my word count escalated back up to 5,000 when I’d meant to cut it down. Oops.

My Current Home Management Strategies to Help Stay Organized as a Writer

Honestly, I’m trying to clean less than I was. Lowering my standards a bit has helped give me more time for bigger projects. My house is still pretty tidy, but I’m doing less dusting and sweeping the floor. Letting those little details be more lax is freeing me to face bigger piles. Hopefully, I will start feeling like less of a pile of mush myself – I’m still a wee bit overwhelmed.

Thanks for reading what I’m writing,

Jody Susan

The post down below from 99 days ago was the first day I failed to check into the 2024 L.A. Writers’ Challenge, but the day was only 18 hours, so that’s my excuse…

I'm not sure what to say here: I once got second place in a dog-look-alike-contest? I know how to fold a fitted sheet? I'm pretty much a poster child for social backwardness - at least as far as social media is concerned; but I have some stories I think I'm supposed to share and am attempting to do that here, in this space.
