It was a big day as far as getting through goals, but I’m running late for a bonfire, so I’ll keep this short (and no, I’m not burning my books).

What Did I Accomplish Today to Be a Writer?

I did Day 212 of the 100 Words a Day Writing Challenge 2024 through L.A. Writers’ Lab, chopped a story submission down to one third, which I didn’t want to do, but was amazed by the results, sent in three pieces for publication, and made plans for recording my audiobook. I planned to use a local studio, but they haven’t prepared pricing for long projects (I’ve been told to expect 2.5 hours in the studio for every recorded hour. According to my word count, this will probably take twenty-five hours, not including editing). In the process of negotiating, I was put in contact with someone who has audiobook experience, so I’m excited for that connection. I have been praying for a team to help me get this stuff done.

I also met with my writing group and sent out another short story to some members asking for help red-lining forty-percent out of a piece to tighten the throughline.

My Office Management Strategy to Cut Down on Distractions as a Writer

My “office day” still lacks time in the office. Tuesdays are still pretty topsy-turvy. I spent a lot of time on content today, so maybe tomorrow I will make up for what I missed, since Wednesdays are usually my writing days.
