Day 192. Wow – that’s a lot of days.
What Did I Accomplish Today to Be a Writer?
I did Day 192 of the 100 Words a Day Writing Challenge 2024 through L.A. Writers’ Lab and spent a lot of time fine tuning my manuscript about my mom. I had a semi-colon face-off, and also decided to keep my etcs with elipsis at the end – would the plural form be elipsi? I don’t know…
Going through this manuscript has been both touching and tough. I’ve laughed and cried, and it feels pretty vulnerable to think about setting it out for the world to see. I do think I ought to do it, because a friend was wanting to read some of my posts for encouragement in her caregiving situation, and trying to navigate through a blog isn’t always easy. A book makes things more manageable.
My Content Management Strategies to Create and Schedule Manuscripts and Posts
I’ve put posting on hold as far as social media is concerned, but I keep plugging away at these daily journals. My hope is to use a recording studio soon, so that I can record poems, short stories, and maybe even a few of my songs, then schedule them ahead of time for social media posts. Going through pictures for my mom’s manuscript, I’ve been reminded how much content I have stored on my hard drive – especially for my tiny house/cargo trailer conversion. Hopefully one of these days those can be published. For now, my focus is almost entirely on this manuscript about my mom, which I’m calling, “Can Cancer be a Gift?”
That might be a controversial title. Please keep in mind, it’s a question, not a statement.
Thanks for reading what I’m writing,
Jody Susan
The post down below, from 99 days ago, has details from a day I’d forgotten about. It’s funny how just a few lines can jog my memory and make me glad I’ve kept this record.
