My Journey to Become a Writer 07/09/2024 Post #191

It’s 10:02 p.m.

I really need to figure out a way to end the day earlier.

What Did I Accomplish Today to Be a Writer?

I did Day 191 of the 100 Words a Day Writing Challenge 2024 through L.A. Writers’ Lab and worked most of the day on my manuscript for my mom. I was hoping to turn it over to the graphic designer today, but have run into too many technicalities – plus some parts are just painfully raw – especially sorting through pictures from her passing away.

I met with a writing group and exchanged edits with a partner, who wrote professionally for magazines before retirement. It was nice to hear more of her story and get advice for making writing a career.

I spoke with people on setting up an appointment to use a sound booth, so I can record some audiobooks, poems and short stories.

My Office Management Strategy to Cut Down on Distractions as a Writer

That subtitle makes me wince. My office is cleaner than it was last week – it looks super-organized, but I know the piles that wait for me in the cyber world. There’s too much clutter on my computer, and I hope to get it tamed soon.

Thanks for reading what I’m writing,

Jody Susan

The post down below, from 99 days ago is a good reminder on making priorities, but what do you do when there are too many rocks to go in your proverbial jar…

I'm not sure what to say here: I once got second place in a dog-look-alike-contest? I know how to fold a fitted sheet? I'm pretty much a poster child for social backwardness - at least as far as social media is concerned; but I have some stories I think I'm supposed to share and am attempting to do that here, in this space.
