Progress is slow, but it’s progressing. 🙂

What Did I Accomplish Today to Be a Writer?

I did Day 188 of the 100 Words a Day Writing Challenge 2024 through L.A. Writers’ Lab and worked on listening to the last section of my manuscript about my mom, so that I could catch snags and refine little details, like being consistent in a.m. vs A.M. – tiny nit-picky things like that.

I also worked on editing a piece for someone who is making a submission for publication. Mostly, I went through and tried to eliminate every excessive word.

I also met with a friend to discuss her upcoming book, and to seek advice on some of my own decisions.

Also, I worked on two different draft ideas for a back cover, and passed them on for feedback from people I trust.

How Having Someone Act as My CEO is Helping My Writing & Business Strategy

Having accountability keeps me on track. I’ve purposefully shared my goals with others, because I’m so easily swayed into people pleasing that I often forget what direction I ought to be going in. I guess this is my way of using people pleasing as a positive, instead of a stumbling block.

Thanks for reading what I’m writing,

The post down below, from 99 days ago, is a reminder to be grateful for all I’ve got, and all I’m not:

I'm not sure what to say here: I once got second place in a dog-look-alike-contest? I know how to fold a fitted sheet? I'm pretty much a poster child for social backwardness - at least as far as social media is concerned; but I have some stories I think I'm supposed to share and am attempting to do that here, in this space.
