My Journey to Become a Writer 07/01/2024 Post #183

It’s 9:07 p.m.

I wish I’d done this earlier, but there hasn’t been much in the way of down time, so here goes…

What Did I Accomplish Today to Be a Writer?

I did Day 183 of the 100 Words a Day Writing Challenge 2024 through L.A. Writers’ Lab and spent most of the day listening to my manuscript about my mom’s cancer journey. I’m listening for typos and awkward spots – and trying to figure out what to do for things like songs, which may be copyrighted. I tried to track down some of the images, because I’m hoping to start working on that aspect tomorrow. The problem is, I don’t think I have a high enough resolution quality, since they aren’t originals. I’m not sure how to navigate around that issue.

I also met with my memoir group and listened to two readers. We gave feedback on what they shared.

I’m just now crawling into the Facebook realm, and I can’t say that I understand it at all. Especially navigating between my professional and personal pages. I thought I posted something this morning, but I don’t think it worked out that way. We’ll see if I stick this out. It was originally posted on Instagram:

I realized too late that the birds in this video are way too loud – Lesson learned.

Here’s a look on Facebook, but it looks like it just shoots people over to Instagram, if it gets clicked:

I have no clue how to navigate all this, and don’t know that I want to learn

I added a tab to my Anthology section called, “My Heritage” and filed Frances’ letter about her honor flight in that area:

Frances Stewart was one of my all time favorite people.

My Current Home Management Strategies to Help Stay Organized as a Writer

Wow! Today was a full day of cleaning and yardwork, so I’m pretty wiped out. I did a deep clean while listening to my manuscript. That was a good form of multi-tasking. My office is much more cleared out than it was a week ago, so I’m looking forward to continuing to gain traction towards being organized.

Thanks for reading what I’m writing,

Jody Susan

I only skimmed the post down below, from 99 days ago, because it’s about rest, and I’d better be resting the rest of the night:

I'm not sure what to say here: I once got second place in a dog-look-alike-contest? I know how to fold a fitted sheet? I'm pretty much a poster child for social backwardness - at least as far as social media is concerned; but I have some stories I think I'm supposed to share and am attempting to do that here, in this space.
