My Journey to Become a Writer 06/15/2024 Post #167

Informative Image

I’ve been reading a book a friend sent about being an artist and doing what we as individuals were designed to do.

I’ve also been trying to “design” my garden. I sure hope it functions the way I intend, which makes me think God is glad when we do what we were made for.

What Did I Accomplish Today to Be a Writer?

I did Day 167 of the 100 Words a Day Writing Challenge 2024 through L.A. Writers’ Lab, and I set aside my writing to be outside and get a bit better organized. Taking a break on Saturdays seems to help me delve in more on Monday.

Last week I gave a review of the L.A. Writers’ Lab Writers’ Retreat, and it got posted online. I’m making efforts to do things that are outside of my “square”:

A picture of me
I felt much more comfortable with this headshot than the one I talk about in the post down below. I did resist the urge to photoshop my tooth – might as well own it as my “signature incisor”.

As for Instagram, I didn’t want to pass a chance to snap a picture of this corn-dog:

A sticker on a car that looks like a corn dog; but has a dachshund's head, so the corn dog is the dog's body.
With those short legs, it’s hard to ketchup.

Thanks for reading what I’m writing,

Jody Susan

It humored me to look back on this post, and encouraged me that I can see some progress in the realm of self-perception:

I'm not sure what to say here: I once got second place in a dog-look-alike-contest? I know how to fold a fitted sheet? I'm pretty much a poster child for social backwardness - at least as far as social media is concerned; but I have some stories I think I'm supposed to share and am attempting to do that here, in this space.
