My Journey to Become a Writer 06/12/2024 Post #164

My foot isn’t broken – just sore and swollen – plus my pride has shrunk significantly.

What Did I Accomplish Today to Be a Writer?

I did Day 164 of the 100 Words a Day Writing Challenge 2024 through L.A. Writers’ Lab and met with the woman who is helping me edit my memoir. We came up with a plan that I am comfortable with.

I also did a call with a fellow-writer to give feedback on a piece she is submitting for publication. I really enjoy asking questions to spark creativity and add depth to a story.

I was at the E.R. pretty late last night, because of my ignorant foot injury, so I’m keeping this short, in order to catch up on some sleep. Yesterday was the 100 day anniversary of my trip to the E.R. for heart issues, and I guess I went back to celebrate. It felt like Groundhog’s Day. My heart hadn’t been doing much better; but this time the trip was for my foot.

Here’s yesterday’s Instagram post:

I feel very blessed to be able to see so much wildlife.

Thanks for reading what I’m writing,

Jody Susan

I am still looking for ways to practice reading more slowly, like I was 99 days ago:

I'm not sure what to say here: I once got second place in a dog-look-alike-contest? I know how to fold a fitted sheet? I'm pretty much a poster child for social backwardness - at least as far as social media is concerned; but I have some stories I think I'm supposed to share and am attempting to do that here, in this space.
