My Journey to Become a Writer 05/29/2024 Post #150

I’m writing this later than I would like; but here goes a short snippet…

Here’s a link to the pictures I posted on Instagram today from my time in Switzerland. Please click here to hear the sound and see the rest.

This felt like a time warp – from the car, to the cobblestones, to the electric charging station, and onto the architectural style… it was quite a mix.

What Did I Accomplish Today to Be a Writer?

I did Day 150 of the 100 Words a Day Writing Challenge 2024 through L.A. Writers’ Lab and got about a third of the way through formatting my manuscript. I’m still in the habit of putting two spaces after a period and don’t know that I can drag myself away from that habit.

Reading through old stories made me laugh several times today, which I’m grateful for. Moments like those motivate me to keep recording events. For instance, I’d completely forgotten about the woman I met who was complaining about traveling with her mother-in-law who insisted on Prune Juice despite diarrhea, because that was her daily routine, and she’d just deal with it by washing her insides with Pepto Bismol from a bottle that expired twelve years before.

My Content Management Strategies to Create and Schedule Manuscripts and Posts

Because my eyes get strained if I stare at a computer screen too long, I’ve decided to work on content in two one hour shifts each morning. Then one afternoon a week I’ve added in a five hour blitz, so that I can still feel like I’m making traction by getting a bunch done at once. Hopefully as I deal with more odds and ends I can add more hours, because writing is probably the part I like most.

Speaking of eyes, I’d better shut mine soon.

Thanks for reading what I’m writing,

Jody Susan

The subject matter of this next post seems ironic since I’m talking about making my business cards (which strained my eyes), and how I thought I should get a real chair. Today I think I need a donut instead of a chair, since I think I bruised my tailbone pretty badly, That’s another story…

I'm not sure what to say here: I once got second place in a dog-look-alike-contest? I know how to fold a fitted sheet? I'm pretty much a poster child for social backwardness - at least as far as social media is concerned; but I have some stories I think I'm supposed to share and am attempting to do that here, in this space.
