My Journey to Become a Writer 05/22/2024 Post #143

After being gone for three weeks, my yard needed some attention, so that wound up being my focus for today.

While I was away, I uploaded some of my videos and pictures from Switzerland to Instagram and pre-scheduled them to post, so they should be coming out in the next several days. I’m hoping to go through my camera and schedule more.

What Did I Accomplish Today to Be a Writer?

I did Day 143 of the 100 Words a Day Writing Challenge 2024 through L.A. Writers’ Lab.

I worked on learning how to format books for Amazon KDP in Microsoft Word. This video was helpful:

I’m still working through my manuscript; but this helped me get started.

Concepts sink in much better for me, if I can do them repeatedly. That being said, I’m hoping to format several books at once (eBooks, paperback and hardcover) – I think this will solidify the process in my brain a little better, and it should help me be more efficient, too.

After that, it’s on to audiobooks. Speaking of which, while I was weeding this morning, I listened to Really Very Crunchy by Emily Morrow via Audible. Here’s a link to the Kindle Version:

I’m enjoying listening to Emily (aka @reallyverycrunchy) with bonus material from her husband, Jason (aka @jasondmorrow).

Well, I think I will call it a day.

Thanks for reading what I’m writing,

Jody Susan

I guess I have made some progress since writing this post. I do feel like it’s a daily choice not to get stressed in this season of uncertainty:

I'm not sure what to say here: I once got second place in a dog-look-alike-contest? I know how to fold a fitted sheet? I'm pretty much a poster child for social backwardness - at least as far as social media is concerned; but I have some stories I think I'm supposed to share and am attempting to do that here, in this space.
