I’m back home after being gone for three weeks. I didn’t tell you many details before; but I’ve been taking a break from normal life to regroup and attend a writer’s retreat.

I was in Switzerland and Italy mainly, with very short stops in France and Spain.

I’ll say more about that by and by; but right now I’m focusing on getting back into a routine.

What Did I Accomplish Today to Be a Writer?

I did Day 141 of the 100 Words a Day Writing Challenge 2024 through L.A. Writers’ Lab.  I totally forgot to do my pages for yesterday, so I broke my streak by missing Day 140. My only excuse was that I lost six hours of my day by going East across the Atlantic Ocean. It’s a strange thing to be chased by the sun like that. It was morning when we left Barcelona; but the sky grew into an inky green over the sea, and then the sun seemed to rise again while we were still in the air.

Today I mostly worked on filling in the Alternative Text for images on my website. I think I’m finally down to the last page after doing 39 of them. This has been a time consuming process; but I think it will be good to have it complete. Hopefully this will keep me from being docked by search engines.

My Current Home Management Strategies to Help Stay Organized as a Writer

I jumped right into my normal cleaning schedule today. I’m glad I came back to a fairly tidy house. I’d heard their were tornadoes in our area; but other than a few small branches down in the yard, it looks like this place did okay. I have plenty of weeding to do, which is fine, because it’s a good excuse for enjoying the sun’s rising rays. It also didn’t hurt that I spied some strawberries, too.

 I’ll try to share more about my trip in future posts.
