It has been more than a year since my mom was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.
August 1st, 2022 – Post #47
I just wanted to give a quick head’s up: My mom’s hip pain has increased significantly. The preliminary results of the CT scan indicate severe arthritis. If she felt better, she would be a candidate for a hip replacement; but that’s probably not a realistic option considering how much her strength has diminished and how she has reacted to anesthesia in the past.
We are scheduling a steroid shot, increasing pain management efforts, and hoping extra rest will help her recover a little more mobility. She is very tired and a little confused at times; but still smiling. She might be taking a little bit of a sabbatical from her cellphone for a few days, so please don’t feel ignored or stressed if she doesn’t respond – she’s had a hard time keeping up with returning calls and texts. Thank you for understanding.
